Thai Foot Massage

Traditional Thai Foot Massage uses Thai foot sticks to stimulate reflex points and includes a therapeutic massage to the lower legs and feet.

It is particularly good if you are on your feet a lot and find yourself with achey feet or legs at the end of the day. This is because it works all the muscles and joints of the lower legs leaving you feeling like you are floating on air.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology Tape was originally developed by a Japanese chiropractor, Dr Kenzo Kase, who wanted a tape that provided support but didn’t limit movement the way traditional tapes do. In other words, it is designed to mimic the skin’s elasticity so you can use your full range of motion.

It can be used to treat injuries alongside manual therapies by mitigating pain and swelling. Kinesiology Tape can also be used to add extra support to muscles or joints that need it as well as helping to re-train muscles that have lost function or that have gotten used to an unhealthy way of working.

Athletes can use Kinesiology Tape to help them achieve peak performance and protect against injury when competing in special events.

Whether you are a professional athlete or an amateur training at a high level of intensity and looking to improve your conditioning and enhance your performance, ideally you should already be including deep tissue massage as part of your weekly training regime as a preventative measure before leaving it too late and using it as injury rehabilitation.

Pre Event Massage

A pre event massage is usually not more than 10 or 15 minutes in duration and performed on the day of the event.

I use some sports psychology at this time, whilst providing the massage, to set an encouraging and positive tone.

I have a huge understanding of different athletes and appreciate you prepare for your events in different ways. While some athletes like to sit quietly to prepare for competition; others have a lot of nervous energy and are talkative and active right before competing. This is where I develop my understanding of your needs and won’t interfere in your process of getting ready.

My goal is to have you leave the massage table feeling prepared for athletic competition.

Post Event Massage

Post event massage is administered immediately after the event or competition. The goal of post-event massage is to decrease muscle soreness and/or cramping and to facilitate a faster return to training after an athletic event.

A post-event massage is designed to aid the athlete in recovering from the activity; flush out the lactic acid buildup, reduce post-exercise soreness; and re-establish range of motion and blood flow to tight muscles. It also can give you a big psychological lift.
